Potters field is a
place where people are buried when they die and have no friends and family
members to claim them, or the family is to poor to afford a grave in a
graveyard, so this is where they will rest in peace. Some of the graves in
potters field may have names on them due to the fact that after they died
they were then claimed years later. The people resting in Suffolk County
Potters Field are from the Suffolk County Home Poor House, and the Suffolk
County Asylum. As with any graveyard you here stories of unusual activity
there. Some people may say that all graveyards are haunted because it’s the
final resting place of the dead.
Observed Activity: Investigations here
have collected several bright light non-orb
photographs. Some Class C EVPs have also
been collected here. Members have observed odd lights - either bright white
or red - in the woods around the cemetery that cannot be explained by
passing cars. Often voices are heard in the woods but it is clearly not kids
hanging out in the area. Investigations continue.

Three unusually bright objects appear in these
photographs taken at Suffolk County Potters Field. Although it was a humid
night the brightness and density of these objects is unlike the orbs in the
rest of the picture.

Observations
and Personal Experiences
from Suffolk County Potters Field |
-
Date: May 2006
Description: While investigating the edge of the woods to the
East of the cemetery field LIPI EVP Specialist Jaiem Fleischmann
believes he was touched.
-
Date: June 2006
Description: While investigating the cemetery field LIPI kept
seeing a white/blue balls of light (orbs?) "floating" approx. 6-7 feet
above the ground just inside the tree line on the East side of the
field. The lights were moving away from the road. Also heard voices
but did not see anyone or any other vehicles in the area. Some LIPI
investigators went into the woods and saw a small (4-5 foot tall)
brown object run away from them. They are certain it was not a deer.
Update: December 2006 - After discussing
these observations with other paranormal investigators LIPI has
concluded there is a high likelihood the lights were probably glowing
balls of naturally produced gases. This is a rare but natural
non-paranormal phenomena, also known as "Willow theWisp" also
known as "Will 'o the Wisp"
-
Date: October 2006
Description: While investigating the woods to the East of the
cemetery field LIPI kept seeing a small red light jump from tree to
tree and along the ground. No one was using a laser.
