Prolog: In August of 2008 the Long Island Paranormal Investigators was called on to investigate a residence in Sayville, NY.

The childrens' playroom from where the parents saw the spirit of the boy walk past the window.
Historical background:
The colonial style home dates back to 1915. The block that it is located on is considered an older block with homes
dating back to the 1800s. The homeowners informed LIPI that the family who used to
own the house lost a son to leukemia while they lived there. The boy is believed to have been between the ages of nine and eleven years old.

Mike Cardinuto and Amanda DeCarlo outside the dining
room.
Reported paranormal activity:
Master Bedroom: The wife claims to have felt something moving across the bed as she and her husband laid in bed. She said it felt like a cat,
however the family doesn't own any cats or dogs. She also claimed feelings of uneasiness. At the time of the investigation, the wife
wouldn't sleep in the bedroom anymore.

Daughter's Bedroom: The young daughter of the family has told her parents that she has seen a multi-colored ball of light appear in her bedroom at night.

Mike Cardinuto and Paul Guarino take readings in the daughter's bedroom.
The Garage: The property has a detached garage. One day while the husband and wife were talking they
witnessed a boy walking over to the
garage. The husband went out to go see what the child was doing. When he got to the garage there was no one else around.
The investigation team: Long Island Paranormal Investigator members who attended the investigation were Lead Investigators Mike Cardinuto and Rob Levine, Investigator Paul Guarino, and LIPI Official Guest Amanda DeCarlo.
The investigation setup: Long Island Paranormal Investigators performed a
"lights out" investigation of the residence. Mike Cardinuto and Paul Gaurino handled the set up of four
DVR cameras around the house.
Rob Levine and Amanda DeCarlo conducted the in-home interview and answered questions of the residents.
The investigation:
A variety of equipment was used during the investigation. These included
digital cameras,
EMF meters,
digital voice recorders, and
Geiger counters. Each member worked a different section of
the location for approximately 45 minutes to an hour, and then would switch.

Paul Guarino using the video camera to record the investigation.

Amanda DeCarlo taking photographs in the upstairs hallway.
Findings:
Audio: A possible "EVP" was recorded by Amanda DeCarlo.
This is still being analyzed.
Photographs and Video: No photographs showed any
anomalies.
EMF: Readings in the home were consistent and in normal ranges. Despite being an old house the wiring appeared to be in good condition.
Temperature: Nothing unusual was recorded at the location.
Conclusion: Other
than a possible EVP no paranormal evidence was collected on this investigation.
At the request of the home owner, LIPI empathic specialist Peter Ferraro
performed a general house cleansing. The home owner feels much better about the
house after the cleansing. Long Island Paranormal Investigators will remain in
contact with the residence and will return for further investigation if
necessary.
