Fort Trumbull

A Brief History: Fort Trumbull is located at 90 Walbach Street New London Connecticut. Fort Trumbull was completed in 1777. In 1781 during the time of the American Revolutionary War the fort was attacked and captured by the British under the command of Benedict Arnold. During the civil war the fort was used by the Union troops for recruiting purposes and also for training soldiers before being sent out for war. During the 20thcentury between 1939 and 1946, Fort Trumbull was the place of the first Coast Guard Academy. Today the Fort is now a tourist attraction and you can tour the Fort throughout the year.


Haunted History: Tourist have claimed to see shadowy figures moving inside the fort and then disappear. People have also claimed to see soldiers marching outside of the fort and then disappear.
