Taggart House

A Brief History: Located at 18 Main Street in Stockbridge Massachusetts, the Taggart House was built in 1850 by Stockbridge resident Henry Dwight Sedgwick. For over 170 years, several notables called The Taggart House home, including the psychologist  Erik Erikson. He coined the phrase “identity crisis".  In the 1980s, The Taggart House was owned by Rush Taggart, a successful banker who gave the home its name.

The home was a Bed & Breakfast for much of the 2000s, The Taggart House was completely restored in 2014 by its current owners, the Manley Family. The estate now serves as a vacation rental property. The Taggart House combines fine 19th century architecture with luxurious comfort and modern amenities. It was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Haunted History: There have been claims of seeing a woman in white appear and disappear in on of the rooms on the 2nd floor.  People have claimed to see shadow people walking on the grounds of the property.
