The Devil's Tree

A Brief History:Â The devil's tree is a solitary tree in the middle of an empty field, on Mountain Road by Emerald Valley Lane in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Due to the area being void of many people or police, the tree became a spot of torture and loss of many lives. The KKK would frequently hold meetings here, while burning crosses and sacrificing the lives of local African American men and woman to make an example of their sick ideologies about a perfect race. There was also a local farmer who was claimed to have killed his whole family, then after hung himself on devils tree.
