A Brief History: The Butler House Inn was built c. 1830 and is located at 128 Main Street, Stowe, Vermont 06572. It was originally the private home of Stowe’s first attorney, Orion Butler. Over time it was also a, “guest house and tavern, post office, apartments, a jewelry store, the infamous Red Door Bar, and for over 25 years the Swiss Pot Restaurant. It currently operates as a bed and breakfast for tourists visiting Stowe.

Haunted History: According to some guests who have stayed here, they claim to have heard a tapping sound in the middle of the night as well as feelings of being watched. another occurrence that was reported was that a guest heard a knock on the door in the middle of the night and when they opened the door to see who it was no one was there.
