Osgood Pell House

A Brief History: The Osgood-Pell house is located between 424 Bellevue Avenue Newport, Rhode Island. The structure is a 19thcentury mansion built to serve as a residence and was owned most notably by the wealthy Osgood and Pell families. In addition to being used as a residence the mansion was reportedly temporarily used as a schoolhouse. Today the mansion has been incorporated into the Preservation Society of Newport County and is part of the Newport Mansions tour. The mansion can be visited as a historic site and tourism attraction.


Haunted History: There have been claims of hearing children playing when there were no children present in the house. People have also claimed to see an apparition of a gray man walk into a room and disappear.
