Wilson House

A Brief History: Located at 53 East Main Street in Oyster Bay, New York, the Wilson House was built to serve as a residence in the 1750s. The home gets its name from former resident Harry Wilson, a town tradesman that lived in the house during the mid-20thcentury. Today the home is a stop along the Oyster Bay History walking tour, during which visitors can explore this historic part of Long Island. Legends of famous visitors to the house over the centuries include a brief stop by George Washington to speak to local children, and an overnight stay by the Marquis de Talleyrand while fleeing persecution in France.

Haunted History: People have claimed to have feelings of dread while being in the house. There have been claims of feeling cold spots as well as hearing a woman humming.
