Gibson-Mack-Holt House

Gibson-Mack-Holt House

A Brief History: The Gibson-Mack-Holt House is located at 22 Maple Avenue in Bay Shore, New York. The house was constructed in 1820 and is one of the oldest tradesman houses still around in Bay Shore. The house was named after some of the families that lived there over the years. The house was originally located next to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore NY. In 1985, Dr Mary Holt sold the property to the Bay Shore Historical Society. The Southside Hospital wished to use the space that the Holt House was on for parking. So instead of demolishing the house, in 1986, the Holt house was put on a truck and moved to it's current location. It took 5 years of restoration until in 1991 the Holt house was open to the public.

Haunted History: Employees have experienced seeing shadow people, hearing unexplained footsteps, and an ominous feeling from the basement.
