A Brief History: Jacob Ockers House is located ay 655 Main Street in Oakdale, New York. It was built in 1880 and owned by Jacob Ockers, the founder of the Blue Point Oyster Company. In 1918 Jacob Ockers passed away in the home. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 and is presently owned by the Town of Islip who uses it for office space. There is also public housing on the property.


Haunted History: People have claimed to have heard disembodied voices within the house. There have also been claims of seeing shadows roam around the house.
