Murf's Backstreet Tavern

A Brief History: Murf’s Backstreet Tavern is located at 64 Division Street in Sag Harbor NY, this bar has barely changed since Tom Murphy opened it back in 1976. Before it was Murf’s, the building was a small home that was constructed in 1792 with timbers from an old whaling ship. Murphy believed that one of its former residents still remains on the property. Murphy sold the bar to its current owner, Jay Hamel in 2007.

Haunted History: Murphy said his bar was haunted by the ghost of Adelaide “Addie” King. He claimed the blender once turned on by itself. He also said Addie flipped chairs and even turned on the jukebox when Murphy was doing an interview one time.
